2023-10-13 03:35:46When in NY....must go to KATZ! We arrived around opening time, not much of a line out the door yet. Once you enter, you are given a ticket. Do not lose that...
2023-10-12 10:08:29An important place on the NYC map for fans of meat sandwiches. The delicatessen is always crowded with customers, which means that the waiting time is very long (one star less). But if you like pastrami, it's really worth the wait. The sandwiches may seem pricey at $27, but the portions are huge and if you're not really hungry you can share one portion. The place is also known from movies and has been visited by many famous people. We recommend.
2 weeks agoDelicious pastrami sandwich with pickles! Had a taster at the counter and loved the tenderness, softness and well-seasoned pastrami. Lovely, quirky decor, like a old fashioned large dining hall, walls decorated with photos and poster. A pastrami sandwich was around $29-30 (inclusive tax), considered a big portion for me and packed half away to take away. Would love to come back again and try other things on the menu!
a month agoI would give this place 10 stars if I could. As a tourist, it was absolutely an experience. The meat slicer was super friendly and I love how they give you a small plate of samples while you wait for your sandwiches to be made. We got the classic pastrami on rye with mustard and we asked for a juicy cut. Every single bite was heaven!!! The sandwich was massive and they give you complementary pickles to go with it as well. My partner and I shared this between the 2 of us and we were both full. We went in around 11:30am so there was no line at all. Highly recommend!
2 weeks agoAlthough packed with tourist and we had to make a very long line to get in, this place really delivers. We asked the butcher if he recommended any of the other meats besides pastrami and he basically said: pastrami is the best meat. He gave us some samples of the corned beef and tongue but he was right. We went for the pastrami sandwiches and a frankfurter and I have to say that the pastrami sandwich is by far the best I’ve ever had. I even brought one to Mexico with me. The meat was really juicy, perfectly seasoned and very generous portion in the rye bread. Just some mustard and you are all set!
3 months agoIt’s chaotic and brilliant in equal measures. The experience of watching them carve the meat and make the sandwich in front of you is well worth the trip alone but the taste of the food makes it even better. Amazing pastrami, and super tasty Philly cheese steak. So glad we made the effort to go and the queue wasn’t to long either at about 1pm on a Monday.
